Pañales para nadar

If you're ready to take your child for a dip in the pool or the ocean, swim diapers are a great way to let them have some fun without being weighed down. These diapers are specially designed to be submerged in water without absorbing liquid like a traditional diaper will. You can find swim diapers in both disposable and reusable styles depending on your preference. Here are some tips to ensure that you and your child get the most out of their swimming experience.

How Does A Swim Diaper Work

Some swim diapers come in predetermined sizes depending on the age and size of your child. Others are stretchy and fully adjustable so they can grow with your child. Most adjustable swim diapers are reusable since they're designed to grow along with your little one. Look for diapers that have snaps on the side so you can tighten or loosen the diaper as needed.

Infant Swim Diaper

The purpose of swim diapers is just as intended: to be worn by children while swimming only. Even though they're quite waterproof, they won't absorb messes if your little one has to go potty. These diapers will leak and you'll end up with a mess, so always bring backup "regular diapers" with you so you can change your child once they're back on dry land.

Disposible Swim Diapers

If you're planning a family trip out of town, make sure you bring several swim diapers for backup. That way, if you have a spare, you won't have to worry about changing or having to buy more if one is torn or damaged. You should also bring a spare regular diaper or two with you when hitting the beach or pool. Once your child is done swimming, you'll need to have that backup diaper ready to make the change into something dry and absorbent.

Waterproof Diaper

You can put your child's swimsuit or swim bottom directly over their swim diaper if you prefer to do so. Make sure your toddler-aged child takes frequent bathroom breaks every half hour to one hour to avoid an accident. If the swim diaper gets soiled, change them into a regular diaper right away or change into a new swim diaper if they still want to splash around. Throw away disposable swim diapers or clean your reusable ones thoroughly before putting them away. You can wash most reusable swim diapers with dish soap and water, or toss them in the washing machine for quick cleaning.
