Banana Boat falling down on its one job...
After using BB products essentially since they became available solely due to--at least previously--having been trusted and reliable, our family picked up two brand new, unexpired cans of this product to take on a beach vacation. I also made my own for medical special case for myself, to be explained more shortly. Long story short, my wife and kids both received intense sunburns with Liberal application every 40 minutes with this BB SPF 50 product, while my own may have worked too well as I'm just as pale as when I left the previous week. I'm okay with that, and we ended up ditching the second of the two canned product for mine after everyone else went lobster on day two. We even used up one entire can on the first day, as I don't mess around with frequent application. Looking further into the instructions and checking production dates, it's 'good' to 2028, and the instructions were followed to the letter. The curious part is step 4, which dictates to "Cover Up!" If I were to cover up after applying the initial two applications of sunblock, say, at the beach with a swim suit, why would I need sunblock in the first place?! Badly burned
My son used banana boat 50 SPF this past Saturday on an outing with his friend and her family and is horribly burned despite several applications. In fact we visited the doctor today and he’s has second degree burns.
