We purchased two Bentgo Modern Lunch Boxes, and both are now unusable due to the exact same failure. In each case, the plastic hinge nubs on the lid snapped off entirely under normal use, causing the lids to detach. No drops. No abuse. No dishwasher mishaps. Just regular daily use — and the core structural component failed. That leaves us with zero functional lunch boxes despite paying for what is marketed as a durable, premium product. A lunch box whose lid cannot remain attached is not “wear and tear”; it is a fundamental design or materials defect. The most concerning part is the consistency: both units failed in the same way, which strongly suggests a systemic issue with the hinge design. If this is a known weak point, customers deserve to be warned — or the product should not be sold at this price point. This is not a cheap disposable container. Expectations are higher, and Bentgo has missed them badly here. Leaking
I bought this because it promised to be leak-proof, but it completely failed. Even the bottom-right compartment leaked when I put a salad in it, and the juice spread into the other sections. Food leaks between compartments
I bought two of these in July for my wife and daughter, to replace two of the classic style. We found that this Modern box leaked between the compartments a lot more than the previous classic style has. The whole thing doesn't link but it just leaks between compartments such that you can't have sliced apples in one compartment and crackers in another without getting really soft crackers in the four hours between packing it and eating it.Reply from Bentgo3 months agoHi, We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Bentgo® Modern Lunch Box, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback. Not as good as the one for kid
My kids all love their lunch box and they use it everyday, no problem for years. Bought mine in a cute purple, uses it 5 times, and it’s brocken. Disappointing
I bought 4 of these lunch boxes for my kids and 3 have broken hinges.
