Consistent and delicious
I've used this product for years. As an amateur baker, I appreciate the product's consistency; I never wonder if the resulting mixed product will give me different results. I just recently made 3 batches. The instructions have always said to add 3 tbsp of flour for rolled cut out cookies, which I always do; if it's not on the bag now, I hope they correct that. The only problem I've ever had with them is some spreading if I let the dough get too warm, but I cut out and bake cookies at 375 for 9 minutes. I'll add a minute or three for my sister's because she likes them dark, but if the dough temp is right, cookies will hold their shape well. About temp: I refrigerate my dough and pull them out an hour or two before cooking, the microwave the dough for 12 seconds to soften it. The outside will be warmer than the inside, so I knead the dough so the cooler center cools down the outside and it's all pliable. They usually don't spread unless I've really let the dough get too warm. Lastly, I'm going to get Silpat baking mats to help with spreading. My family, friends and even students have always love the cookies I make from this product. I use vanilla and almond flavors in my powdered sugar or Royal icing, and, well, yum! Please go back to enough mix for 1 stick of butter!!! Charge me more I do not care!!!! It is so frustrating!!! I have always used your sugar cookie mix that come
I have always used your sugar cookie mix that comes in a bag. I always make drop cookies and have always cooked them for 7-9 minutes as the directions use to advise to do. The latest bag called for baking 17-19 minutes. The cookies didn’t taste like they used to. Were much thicker/chewier. Did you change your recipe? If so I don’t like them nearly as well. I don’t do cut out cookies so this is not the issue…always drop cookies. Would love a response as to whether or not the mix has changed somehow. This was the biggest “trust the process” recipe. At first I was so nervous because it is very dry at first but I hand mixed it with gloves and kept at it and it came together after a few minutes. Overall I really liked it!! If it looks super dry just keep mixing in the butter it has to soften all the way through. Let me start by saying I am huge fan of BC product
Let me start by saying I am huge fan of BC products and cook books. This one missed the mark. The dough was dry, and tasteless. I tried adding more moisture to the dough but the end result was the same a dry crumbly cookie. I am a home baker of wedding cakes and specialty themed baked goods. My sister takes issue with your directions calling
My sister takes issue with your directions calling for a "stir" process to combine cookie ingredients.
