I have been feeding this to my 3 dogs for many years. My chihuahua picks out the small black pieces because they are too hard. At first I thought it was the taste but her topping was a little wetter one day and she eats them if well-moistened. The size of them changed recently but she still does the same thing. You can tell she has a hard time getting first bite into them. Has regular dentals so it's not her teeth. This seems to be a common issue for others as well.

Used this food for my dog as soon as she aged out of their small breed puppy food and it was great for a long time! With their new options we no longer use this food, only complaint was that she refused to eat the small circular balls that are in the bag. I believe that was her preference! -Olive, Four year old Cockapoo

I have a chihuahua and a shitsu and both love this food. And the chicken one is there favorite. They are very healthy and so far they don't have any issues.

I give my dog tue adult and senior versions of this food. We have alwaysused Blue Buffalo for the healthy ingredients. Her hair and skin seem to be very healthy and she loves the taste.
