Stays in place but doesn’t really get hot
I give this item 5 stars for its functionality in terms of the ability to be placed on a difficult area of the body (shoulder). The adjustable straps are excellent and can be moved around until it feels comfortable. Price-wise, this product is comparable to other heating pads. The one major disappointment I have with this product is its inability to actually get really hot. The "high" setting gets about as hot as a regular (non-LED) heating pad's low-to-medium setting. In order to reach those deep muscles of the rotator cuff and neck, this unit should have more power output. Even a gel microwave heating pad gets hotter and stays hotter longer than this item. It works
It takes some patience to adjust the straps to ensure the heating pad is in the best position; however it is worth it. My regular heating pad could not stay on my shoulder or around my bicep. This wrap style heating pad is ideally shaped for the shoulder/arm area and comes with several straps to help customize the fit for every body. I have struggled with bicep tendinitis and shoulder pain for several months. A learning curve with this but works well
I bought it to use for shoulder pain and read many reviews prior to purchasing it. First, the straps are not attached to the pad so they are fastened on both ends by Velcro. Since it is for use on the shoulder, you obviously are attaching this with one hand, unless someone helps you. It is cumbersome to figure out how to pull the heating pad part high enough on your shoulder and then attached both straps. It took me about 6-7 tries to do it efficiently. Second, I have a small frame, 5'7'' 120 lbs so this does not fit in anyway like it does in the picture. I have to wrap the strap nearly all the way around, but it is doable. Third, many commented on the smell, It does have a sort of new tire smell that made my shirt smell the first few times but it goes away fairly quickly. The smell was not too strong or I would not have used this product. Lastly, many said they wished the unit got hotter. There are three temperature settings. I have only used the highest setting because it does not get super hot. But it is about right if you have it on bare skin. Likely you would not unless you wore a tank top. But you will not burn yourself with this and I did find the temperature was high enough to help relieve the shoulder pain. So, what I liked is that you can get it to fit snug on your shoulder so that the heat reaches the front and back of your shoulder. It gets warm enough to benefit from it. It does take practice to get the straps right so it might not work for everyone. Fits all sizes! Heats quick! Super soft on the skin!
