Great Value
In the past I always bought the name brand, but I tried this after three cold sores in a row and it is just as effective.1 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendVerified purchaseReviewed 3 months agoValue Out of 5Meets expectationsOut of 5Quality Out of 5
Compare with Abreva.
Contains the same medicine as Abreva at a better price.4 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendSHIRLEYVerified purchaseReviewed 4 months agoValue Out of 5Meets expectationsOut of 5Quality Out of 5
Diminishes the coldsore discomfort
CVS's brand of docosanol is the same strength as the brand name medical cream for cold sores. It takes care of lip sores effectively and cost less for same size and strength.3 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendHARRYVerified purchaseReviewed 5 months ago1 users found this review helpful.

CVS Docosanol
I am glad that CVS has a generic store-brand comparable to Abreva. I get a herpes simplex outbreak on my face very rarely, but when I do I need an antiviral medication immediately. Abreva is very expensive and sometimes hard to find. I am grateful that the CVS brand is more affordable.1 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendLisa JReviewed 5 months agoValue Out of 5Meets expectationsOut of 5Quality Out of 5
This works exactly like Abreva
Started using right when I felt a cold sore coming and literally ensured that it didn’t get to the point where it’s messy (red, crusty, puss, and bloody) just got the red bump and took care of it! Works exactly like Abreva but not as expensive.4 users found this review helpful.
