    Great Value

In the past I always bought the name brand, but I tried this after three cold sores in a row and it is just as effective.

    Compare with Abreva.

Contains the same medicine as Abreva at a better price.

    Diminishes the coldsore discomfort

CVS's brand of docosanol is the same strength as the brand name medical cream for cold sores. It takes care of lip sores effectively and cost less for same size and strength.

    CVS Docosanol

I am glad that CVS has a generic store-brand comparable to Abreva. I get a herpes simplex outbreak on my face very rarely, but when I do I need an antiviral medication immediately. Abreva is very expensive and sometimes hard to find. I am grateful that the CVS brand is more affordable.

    This works exactly like Abreva

Started using right when I felt a cold sore coming and literally ensured that it didn’t get to the point where it’s messy (red, crusty, puss, and bloody) just got the red bump and took care of it! Works exactly like Abreva but not as expensive.
