So inconsistent I’d give zero stars if I could
I echo what other reviewers have said regarding the inaccuracy readings. When reading will be over 100 the next will be 97. The next will be 91. So inaccurate
I received this as a baby shower gift and it is the most inaccurate thermometer I have ever used. It get 4 different readings that say 97.7 then the next will be 101 then a normal reading. Inaccurate readings can be dangerous.
For the price I expected this thermometer to be accurate. The readings are so off it impossible to know the true temperature. The instructions didn’t specify if it should be the center of the forehead or the side of the head. In the same reading checks, I would get 98 (green) then 100 (yellow) then it would go to 101 (red). With these different readings in one setting it’s impossible to know the real temperature. Exactly the device I needed.
Taking temp the old way was stressful for my granddaughter. This shortens the required time to check her temp. So innaccurate, I had to go to the ER
I have a condition that if my tempurature goes over 100.3, I need to go to the emergency room. One night last week, I experienced severe shaking chills, then I felt very warm. We discovered our old under the tongue thermometers weren't working. I sped off to CVS and this was one of two in stock. The set up is difficult. The handbook was confusing and hard to read.. The thermometer's first reading was a 97. Then 104. Then 98. Then 102. Then 99. Then 101. I called my after hours emergency nurse contact, who siad I had to go to the ER. The readings were too dangereous. When I got there and told my story, everyone I came in contact with said these CVS thermometers were unreliable and overpriced. I was given a rectal reading - the most accurate -- and it was 99.9 at that point. I didn't have to go to the ER and receive extensive blood tests because the docs were so concerned about possible infection and the wild tempurature range from this CVS thermometer. CVS, you should be ashamed for stocking this cheap, but expensive, piece of you knw what.
