Unfortunately I cannot recommend this alternative to the original Scar Away, a silicone based product that inhibits collagen production on scars. I purchased this CVS product to save on money and regret it: The dispenser, a non recylable plastic is handy but doesn't contain much of the ointment; the strips for covering the scar are terrible and don't stick for long in contrast to those by Scar Away, which are sturdier and last for over eight hours. Sorry, this one is barely a star. Sheets work fine, the gel, not as much
The silicone sheets seem to be working, even after only a week- the scar seems flatter, but I do need to put a bandaid over it to make sure it stays in place on my wrist, which gets a lot of movement, The gel remains sticky, even if I try to put a light layer on, so I stopped using it, so I feel like i was paying for something I didn't use. Amazing Stuff!
I really wasn't sure whether or not this would work. I had a scar about 3 to 4 inches long after having surgery on my foot. After about two months, it still wasn't going away and I toyed with the idea of purchasing this. I'm so glad I did! After about a month and a half my scar is down to about 1 1/2 to 2 inches And I believe in the next couple months it will be barely noticeable. I'm so glad I took the leap of faith and purchased this. product didn't work for me
I tried this product but after applying the silicone scar sheet for a few hours, I experienced burning/throbbing and I had to remove it. It did not work for me. Less typhan advertised
I had been given similar product to try a scar that was very visible. CVS brand had 2 products that had a generic equivalent of the ointment I was given.in comparing the alternatives, I opted for a more"comprehensive":kit that included a clear patch that was placed over the scar and ointment since it I,implied it would be more effective. The clear patch did not adhere to the wound in spite of following the directions (which were not clear on which side the adhesive patch should be wet and placed on the wound. I am only a couple of weeks using this but have already seen results on part of my scar.
