A game changer for minor burns
I burned my arm on the stove and used regular gauze and aquaphor for a couple days with minimal healing. Picked these up, put one on, and it was a complete transformation. I burned my arm on a 425 degree oven door and it seemed to be a minor red spot for a few days, instead of blistering it just became extremely dry and itchy. Acquired the pads, First impression, the cooling sensation is amazing. The feeling of the pad as a secondary skin provides extreme relief. Within a few days I noticed the pad started to get bubbly and I was starting to blister, which I didn’t have prior. I still assume this was bound to happen and just healing process. However the instructions on the box says to remove when drainage absorption nears the pad. Once my pad had drainage around the edges, I peeled off as instructions and it DEROOFED my blister (tmi fluids everywhere at this point) and I’m panicking about infection. I rinse with hot water only very thoroughly, and apply the next patch. Immediately the cooling sensation relief. I still panicked wondering if I did something wrong, scared of trapping germs now that the blister opened. Learning my lesson I knew to leave this next patch on until it was going to die with me. I noticed the burn looked worse than it started but this is common with the healing process so I just put my all into hope. After googling I learned the patch is even more helpful with deroofed blisters, but I most definitely would’ve avoided the deroofing in the first place. That patch stayed on for probably a week. Before I got a slight whiff and noticed a smell! Again panicked about infection. Instructions are not clear about removing, more details about the type of burn, drainage, smell, roofed vs deroofed, etc would help. I personally would not advise removing if you see the patch starting to “soil” or sign of drainage, as it may pop your blister. Knowing what I know now I would’ve left the first patch on much much longer. However on the contrary with the misunderstanding, these patches are amazing, comfortable, and durable. I may have added a few days to my healing process but my skin is healing remarkably. After removing what I thought would be the last patch because I no longer have drainage, after a few mins the fresh skin started getting irritated, so I once again applied the last pad and I know this will be the cherry on top to my last week of final healing. Great for soccer moms
They are large and cover a good amount of skin the instant cooling relief is a nice added feature you get 4 in a box as well so it’s a super good deal!!! CVS Health Waterproof Hydrogel Burn Pads
I didn’t expect these burn pads to be this good, but honestly they saved me. I burned myself cooking (as usual 😭) and my skin was stinging like crazy. I put one of these on and the cooling relief was instant — like it actually calmed the burn instead of just covering it. The pad is super soft, sticks well without hurting when you peel it off, and stays in place even if you shower or sweat. I love that it keeps the burn moist (in a good way) so it heals faster and doesn’t dry out and crack. And it doesn’t leave that sticky residue that other bandages do. If you’re clumsy like me or have kids running around, having a box of these at home is honestly a must.
