Nothing like the beef stew we have been buying in the past. No gravy. Only a watery "soup" with # or 3 small pieces of beef and a few more vegetables. Had always been a favorite of mine. I grew up on Dinty Moore as a staple in the 1950s - and I purchased several as backup (like my mom used to have on hand for power outages) since we are rural ago often lose power for several days every winter. Unfortunately the recipe changed several years ago, and it just isn't the same at all. Primarily I didn't like that they went to a ground-beef type meat instead of the chunks they used to have, and while the flavor is ok, it's just not the same. Hubby and I had a can a few days ago, and after reading the reviews here, I believe THIS is why both he and I had upset stomachs for several days after. We didn't know why (at the time), but like I said, in reading the reviews, I'm now suspicious. So very sad. I may just dump the remaining half dozen cans - who needs to feel sick after eating this?
