Slake Your Thirst With Arizona Tea

Shake up your day when you hydrate with Arizona tea. Find tea-based beverages, lemonade-infused tea and other drinks at CVS.

Do Arizona Teas Have Caffeine?

All tea naturally contains caffeine, but the amount of caffeine in tea differs depending on the type of tea used and whether the product is mixed with other ingredients, such as fruit juice. Black teas, including the ones used to make Arizona Southern Style real brewed sweet tea, have about 15mg of caffeine per 8 OZ serving. Green tea has a bit less at 7.5mg, and white tea is the least caffeinated with about 6mg of caffeine per serving.

Arizona tea caffeine levels aren't affected by the addition of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Diet teas have the same amount of caffeine per serving as regular teas unless the tea-to-juice ratio is different.

When Did Arizona Tea Come Out?

Arizona tea was first launched on May 5, 1992, in Brooklyn, New York. Now, several decades later, the company is still owned by Don Vultaggio, the chairman and founder of the tea brand, and his two sons, Wesley and Spencer.

The current roster of Arizona tea flavors includes classic black tea as well as products such as Arizona Diet Green Tea With Ginseng, which offers layers of deliciousness with a low-calorie twist. Other products, including tea mixed with raspberry lemonade or Arnold Palmer-style beverages, provide lots of variety for consumers who love the Arizona brand but like to switch up their drinks from day to day.

Does Arizona Tea Expire?

Arizona tea has a shelf life of 24 months from the day the product was manufactured. This 2-year life span only applies to products that are unopened and stored in their original glass, can or PET packaging. If you're not sure how much longer your Arizona tea will last, look for the date code printed on the neck or cap of bottled tea and on the bottom of canned tea. Codes follow a special formatting that begins with an "M" and uses a day-then-month format. So, tea marked "M16822" was made on the 168th day of 2022.

Teas that are opened have a much shorter shelf life. Once you pop the top of your Arizona tea, it lasts about 7-10 days in a refrigerator and a maximum of 2-4 days at room temperature.
