The new formula is a fail
This was my holy grail product for as far back as I can remember. We are talking ever since this product was introduced. This new formula is horrible. Like all of the other reviewers said, it pills, literally looks like your skin is peeling off. It is too thick, it’s near impossible to blend in. Only used it twice before throwing it in the trash. Both times, I ended up getting burned.Reply from Hawaiian Tropic5 months agoWe are sorry to hear about your experience. Wow This New Formula Blows. RUN AWAY- DO NOT WALK!
The new formula is horrible. It stings. It pills. It makes me break out. The old formula was perfect AND affordable. It was the only hydrating, effective, and truly noncomedogenic formula I'd ever used. I would have paid 3X the price for the same product. My husband works for a THE multinational consumer goods corporation (Hawaiian Tropic, you know the one) as a chemical engineer and says that the only reason Hawaiian Tropic would change the formula so much for a product like this would be to cut corners on the price of production thereby screwing over the consumers. So, Hawaiian Tropic, I don't need to ask WHY you change the old formula, just if you will be sensible enough to bring the old formula back. Are you done screwing your consumers? Because if you're not, I'm sure Neutrogena would be happy to take your old consumers. XOXOReply from Hawaiian Tropic6 months agoWe are sorry to hear about your experience. Flawed product … do not use
This product has left permanent orange stains on my light colored lingerie and light colored clothing. Washed many times and tried dry cleaning. Do not use unless you don’t care about the stains. On top of that, the product pills … you know , little rolls of gross stuff all over your skin and clothing . Used it a 3x when vacationing in Florida . Again, this product is severely flawed . They need to reformulate this sunscreen. I always liked the regular Hawaiian tropic lotion but this one is a busts . I’m throwing this bottle in the trash and suggest anyone who bought it to do the same. Clothing is too expensive to be permanently ruined by sunscreenReply from Hawaiian Tropic7 months agoWe are sorry to hear that. I want to love this product but it pills so badly
Love almost everything except the fact it pills. I thought maybe it was something I was doing wrong. However I don't use any other product on my skin when I use this sunscreen, not even regular lotion, so it can't be that I'm using too many products or that I'm using another product and its ingredients don't mix well with this product. I let it dry for 15 minutes before I go out and I do reapply every 2 hours like I'm supposed to but I always make sure my hands are clean when I do it. It just gets gross when it pills which is unfortunate, like it becomes grey smudges and gets all over my hands and under my nails. Otherwise I do like the scent of this product a lot, and I do like that it's moisturizing. If it didn't pill so bad I would give it five stars.Reply from Hawaiian Tropic7 months agoWe are sorry to hear about your experience. Orange nightmare.
I bought the sunscreen when I was going on vacation with my family down in the Caribbean, after we got back and I threw my clothes into the washer I noticed all of my brand new clothes that I bought for the vacation were stained bright orange. I’m not talking my entire body stained bright orange, my cream dress straps, my bikini top and bottom, and my coverup were all stained.Reply from Hawaiian Tropic10 months agoThe active ingredients in sun protection products can sometimes stain certain fabrics. These stains can be removed by washing, although some variables can influence whether these stains will set – things like the type of laundry product use or the hardness of the water used. We offer the following recommendation for removing these stains from washable fabrics. Apply liquid detergent along with liquid stain remover - some stain removers we found to be successful are Clorox® stain remover spray, Shout® stain remover spray, Amway Pre-Wash Spray Soil & Stain remover or a ¼ cup of Clorox® Bleach per gallon of cold water - if fabric can be bleached. Allow the fabrics to soak in cold water overnight. Do not scrub the fibers! The next day, launder the fabrics using the hand washing or delicate setting on your washing machine. If necessary, repeat washing. Air dries the fabrics as the heat from the dryer tends to set the stain permanently. Note: It may be helpful to soften your water for improved cleaning results. To do this, add ¼ cup baking soda or a ¼ cup of liquid dishwashing soap to the water when soaking and laundering (as described above).Regards,Consumer Care0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on Hawaiian Tropic - Mia1Reviewed 10 months ago
please bring back the old formula
I'm truly so sad- the old formula was oil free and the only sunscreen I've used for years. The new formula now has oil and feels completely different. It also pills, stings a little bit, and it's just not the same. Please bring back the old formula, PLEASE.Reply from Hawaiian Tropic10 months agoWe are sorry to hear about your experience.
