First Aid Latex Gloves Keep Hands Clean

First aid latex gloves are must-have items for health care professionals and others tending to medical needs. CVS has a variety of latex gloves available, so you can keep yourself protected while providing care. You can also find alternatives to latex gloves specially designed for individuals with latex sensitivities or allergies.

What are the Best First Aid Latex Gloves Brands?

Are All Nitrile Gloves Latex-Free?

By definition, all nitrile gloves are latex-free because they're made of synthetic rubber materials. Latex is a natural substance composed largely of water and rubber from rubber trees that's processed and made into a variety of products, including gloves. Latex allergies are common, so nitrile gloves are great alternatives to traditional latex gloves.

Oatmeal nitrile gloves have the added benefit of nourishing skin and preventing dryness. Vinyl first aid gloves are another option if you have sensitivities to natural latex.

Are First Aid Latex Gloves Flammable?

Latex gloves are considered flammable because they aren't heat-resistant. Latex gloves shouldn't be used near heat sources, such as an open flame, and special hand protection should be worn when administering primeros auxilios in extreme temperatures. The primary benefit of first aid latex gloves is providing your hands with a barrier against viruses, bacteria and bodily fluids to protect you against infections and illnesses.

How to Dry First Aid Latex Gloves

Most disposable latex gloves are designed for single use, and CVS offers 100-count boxes, so you always have plenty of latex gloves on hand. But if you do need to wash and reuse latex gloves, use warm water and antibacterial soap to thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the gloves.

Turn the gloves inside out, and hang them to air dry. Turning the gloves inside out to dry is a key step to preventing dampness and odor from occurring. If you don't have a clothesline handy, you can also lay the gloves on the side of the sink, bathtub or another surface edge to help them dry. Make sure the gloves are fully dry before you use them again.
