Oh no Carol, we completely understand your frustration! There is nothing more annoying than a great eyeliner that becomes impossible to sharpen when you need it most. You are totally right—you deserve a reliable tool from start to finish. There can be a slight learning curve to getting a good point restored. These new generation gel liners need a sharp blade and gentle touch to sharpen well. For best results don’t try to push the pencil into the sharpener. At the slightest resistance, you’re in far enough. Gently turn and shave off a thin layer to reveal more liner. Pushing the pencil in too far will cause the blade to grab too much of the resin, the pencil won’t sharpen well that way. If its been awhile since you bought a new sharpener, you’ll be surprised the difference a fresh blade can make. Its also possible your liner is not up to the usual standard for this liner.
