High-Quality Cotton Swabs and Cotton Balls

Fill up your first-aid kit and craft bin with high-quality cotton swabs and cotton balls. Find the makeup, hygiene and crafting supplies you need at CVS.com.

Bolas de algodón

Cotton balls are small puffs of cotton. People often reach for cotton balls to apply skin care and wound care products. In addition, they can be used to remove makeup and for a number of other tasks. Manufacturers offer cotton balls in a variety of sizes and sell them in an array of quantities. Cotton balls also come in a variety of sizes. Taking your nail polish off could not be any easier with cotton balls. Soak the cotton ball in your favorite nail polish remover and your nail polish will swipe right off. If you're wondering how to take off gel polish, rip off a piece of a cotton ball, soak it in acetone, place it on your nail, and wrap your nail in aluminum foil! Leave your nails wrapped for a few minutes while the acetone softens up the gel and causes it to lift from your nail! Cotton balls are also great to bring into your skin care routine. Sometimes, the oils of your fingers can cause breakouts when you touch your face. Apply face serum, moisturizer, and face oil with cotton balls instead of using your fingers! Using cotton balls in your skin care routine also prevents you from using too much product - as it soaks up the excess.

Hisopos

A cotton swab is a plastic or paper stick that has a tuft of cotton at each end. Highly versatile, cotton swabs are used for dabbing on medications, for precise makeup application and for cleaning around the eyes, nose and mouth. Like facial tissue, cotton swabs are offered in large packages for home use and in smaller packaging for travel. Clean up your nail polish by dipping your cotton swab in polish remover and wiping away the nail polish on the skin around your nails. Cotton swabs can also be used to fix your makeup. Dip your q - tip in liquid makeup remover and sharpen up your winged eyeliner or wipe away mascara that transferred onto your eyelids. You can even use cotton swabs to apply eyeshadow! The possibilities are nearly endless when it comes to cotton swabs.

Almohadillas de algodón

As you probably know, makeup remover wipes can get expensive. Cotton pads are a great and cheaper alternative! You can get a large amount of cotton pads for only a couple of dollars! Just take some micellar water or liquid makeup remover and soak the cotton pad. One large cotton pad will remove the makeup from your whole face without a problem. Removing mascara can be tricky but if you hold the soaked cotton pad on your eyelids for a few seconds, the mascara will swipe right off! Now that you know some, of the many, uses of cotton balls, cotton swabs, and cotton pads, you can change the way you do your beauty routine and save money! Whether you're doing your nails, taking off your makeup, or doing your skincare routine, you can utilize cosmetic cotton from CVS!

Cosmetic Cotton

You're probably wondering, how is cotton "cosmetic"? Well, the answer is simple - it can be used to take off your cosmetics! Cotton balls, cotton swabs, and cotton pads are secret weapons that not many utilize in their beauty routine. They can be used to remove nail polish, correct any makeup mistakes, and even take off makeup. Their uses are nearly endless and their prices are unbeatable, so stock up on cosmetic cotton from CVS today!

What are the Best Cotton Balls & Swabs Brands?

How Do You Use a Cotton Pad?

Unlike cotton swabs, cotton pads have a larger surface area that makes them great for makeup removal and for applying toner to your face. To use cotton pads, soak the pad in toner or serum, then gently wipe it across your face in an upward motion. Use minimal pressure and never tug on your skin. If the cotton pad gets dirty, discard it and use a new one until your face is completely clean. You can use a cotton pad for cleanser, moisturizer, and toner. Try Beauty 360 Exfoliating Premium Cotton Rounds, which feature added texture to help cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Cotton pads can also be used for nail polish remover and eye makeup remover.

Can I Recycle Cotton Pads?

Even if your cotton pads are made of 100% cotton, they typically cannot be recycled. However, used cotton pads can be added to compost as the material does break down and is usually biodegradable. Cotton swabs typically include a plastic stick or sticks made of paper, and may also not be able to be recycled. Ask your local trash removal or recycling center whether or not cotton pads can be added to your recycling bin. Premium cotton rounds made of organic cotton are more likely able to be recyclable than some other options.

Does CVS Sell Cotton Balls?

Yes, CVS sells a variety of Cotton Balls in stores and online.

Are Cotton Swabs Available For Same Day Pickup?

Yes Cotton Swabs are available for same day pickup at most locations, check your local stores availability and add to cart to pick up today.

What Are Cotton Swabs Used For?

Perhaps the best cotton swab use - or at least the most common one - is to use the swab to clean the ear canal. But surprisingly, most experts recommend against using swabs inside your ear canal as doing so can actually push wax deeper and cause damage. But you can find many other ways to use your swabs, such as relying on the soft cotton tip to clean the outer shell of your ear, apply lip gloss, smudge delineador de ojos and wipe away makeup.

Cotton swabs are also wonderful tools for arts and crafts. You can use them for fun painting projects, to adjust glued-on gems for that DIY princess castle or to wipe away excess glue as you build a model airplane. They're good for household cleaning tasks, too. Swabs are perfectly sized to glide between computer keys, removing dust along the way, or to clean up the air vents in your car.

How to Use Cotton Swabs

If you want to use cotton swabs in your ears, only use them on the outer part of the ear, and never insert the swab in your actual ear canal. First, take a shower and let the warm water loosen dry skin and excess ear wax. Then use the swab to gently wipe the outer part of your ear.

Otherwise, stick to approved cotton swab uses, such as DIY projects and your daily makeup and skin care routines. A couple of swabs tucked into your makeup bag can come in quite handy when it’s time to apply acne products onto a breakout or carefully wipe away nail polish that accidentally strayed beyond the cuticle.

Do Cotton Balls Expire?

Plain cotton balls that aren't treated or soaked with anything likely won't come with an expiration date printed on the packaging. That doesn't mean your cotton balls never go bad, though. Cotton can collect bacteria, and it provides an attractive home for bugs and other pests. But proper storage can help prevent issues, and the product itself is made to last.

So, feel free to stock up on jumbo cotton balls and pads. Just transfer them from the original bag-like package into an airtight canister, and keep them in a cool spot with low humidity. With those precautions in place, your cotton balls should be safe and ready to use for years to come.
