Intimina Menstrual Cup
Intimina menstrual cups are a reusable alternative to tampons. Made from 100% medical-grade silicone, these menstrual cups are safe and hygienic.
Lily Cup™ is made for people who have a higher cervix. They can be used for light-to-heavy flow days. They are made with a no-spill rim and a stem that's easy to remove.
Lily Cup™ One is ideal for people who are just beginning to use a menstrual cup or for people who are just starting to menstruate. Its small design comes with a leak-proof double rim at the top, air-release holes, and a loop at the bottom for easy removal. It also collapses into a discreet size and fits into a carry case (included).
Lily Cup™ Compact is a collapsible menstrual cup that can fold up inside of a carry case (included), making it a handy option when you're out and about. It's designed with a secure-hold rim at the top and an easy-grip stem at the bottom.
The Benefits of Menstrual Cups
The many benefits of menstrual cups have helped them become a more popular feminine care choice. Menstrual cups are reusable, which saves money and stops disposable items from going to the landfill. Intimina estimates that one cup can last for up to 10 years and does the job of 1,700 tampons.
Cups hold up to three times as much fluid as a regular tampon, so they don't need to be changed as often. As Intimina menstrual cups are made of medical-grade materials, many women find them more comfortable, and those with sensitive skin may experience less irritation. As your menstrual fluids are kept inside you, there are also fewer odors.
Types of Intimina Menstrual Cups
Intimina has three varieties of menstrual cup:
Lily Cup
Lily Cup One
Lily Cup Compact
The Intimina Menstrual Cup Compact and the Lily Cup come in two sizes. The smaller cup is for people who haven't given birth, while the larger size is good for those who have given birth or who have a weaker pelvic floor. The Intimina Menstrual Cup Lily One is the smallest option and is designed for teenagers and people who have never used a cup before.
How to Use Your Intimina Menstrual Cup
After insertion, you can keep your Intimina menstrual cup in for up to 12 hours before emptying. You may need to empty it more frequently on heavy flow days, although a panty liner can add extra protection. To take the cup out, squeeze the bottom slightly to break the seal, then pull downward. The blood can be emptied into the toilet and flushed away.
After emptying, rinse the cup in clean water and reinsert it. At the end of your cycle, sterilize your cup by submerging it fully in boiling water for 5-8 minutes. Each cup comes with an antibacterial storage pouch or protective case where it can be stored between your periods.
How to Insert Your Intimina Menstrual Cup
Inserting a menstrual cup is relatively easy and similar to inserting a tampon without an applicator. Detailed instructions can be found on the Intimina website.
Fold the cup.
Angle it toward your tailbone, and insert into your vagina.
Rotate the cup in both directions to ensure it pops open and creates a seal.
Pull downward slightly; if it doesn’t move it’s inserted correctly.
Agregando some lubricant to the rim can help ease insertion.
