What are the Best Playtex Tampons Brands?

Tampones Playtex

Playtex tampons work with your body to ensure you can remain comfortable and active during your period. They're available in five absorbency levels: light, regular, super, super plus and ultra.

How To Use Playtex Tampons

When you're ready to use your Playtex tampon, first wash your hands with soap and water. Relax your body and find a comfortable position. Gently insert the tampon applicator into your vagina at an angle until the tampon is inside. Then fully insert the tampon by pushing on the plunger to release the tampon. Remove the applicator. The only thing that should be left outside of your vagina is the string. When you're ready to remove the tampon, relax your body again and gently pull on the strings to release the tampon.

Inserting a compact tampon is similar to that of a full-sized tampon. After washing your hands and unwrapping the tampon, place your fingers on the grip and extend the plunger from the bottom of the tampon until it 'clicks' into place. Find a comfortable position and insert the applicator. When it's inside, remove the applicator. Only the strings should be left outside of your vagina.

Remember: tampons should be changed every 4 to 8 hours. Never use a tampon between periods.

What Are The Playtex Tampons Sizes?

Playtex Tampons come in Light, Regular, Super, and Super Plus absorbency sizes.

Can You Flush Playtex Tampons?

Never flush your tampon or the applicator. They can damage septic systems. Simply wrap your used tampon and/or applicator in a bit of toilet paper and dispose of it in a trash can.

Do Playtex Tampons Expire?

Todo tampones expire eventually, though generally, you won't need to worry about it unless you're buying in significant bulk. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a tampon's shelf life is up to 5 years, but that number can drop a bit depending on how and where it's stored.

Mold thrives in dark and wet environments, so it's best to store tampons in a clean, dry closet. Avoid storing your tampons among your bathroom accessories, as the moisture naturally found in a showering environment can significantly hasten their expiry date.

Using a tampon past its expiry date may cause irritation and discomfort. Additionally, all Playtex tampons are single-use. Never reuse a tampon.

Are Playtex Tampons Flushable?

Although some cuidado femenino products are biodegradable, Playtex tampons aren't and therefore aren't flushable since the materials in them can damage septic systems. The most environmentally sound way to dispose of a used tampon is by wrapping it up in papel higiénico and putting it in a nonrecyclable trash bin. Tampon applicators are also not recyclable.

Are Playtex Tampons Safe?

As long as you use your tampons as directed on the box, you won't have anything to worry about, but a few rules apply to all tampon use.

Most importantly, don't leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours. Changing it every 4 to 6 hours is ideal. It's fine to wear your tampon overnight, as long as it's not more than 8 hours. Only use tampons when actively on your period. It's perfectly fine to swim, take a bath or use geles de baño while wearing a tampon.

It's best to use the lowest-absorbency tampon that fits your flow, as it can be uncomfortable to remove a tampon that's remained mostly unused after insertion. If you use a Playtex super plus tampon, and a significant amount of the cotton is still white after use, try using a Playtex super tampon instead. If you still find you're not using a significant amount of the cotton, drop another level to a Playtex regular tampon.

In very rare cases, leaving a high-absorbency tampon in for too long can increase the chances of experiencing toxic shock syndrome. TSS is a dangerous condition caused by bacteria, but it only affects approximately 1 out of every 100,000 women.
