What are the Best Regular Tampons Brands?

Regular Tampons

Regular tampons are a big part of many women's strategies for managing menstrual flow. A lot of variety is available to experiment with, from regular-flow tampons to supers and ultras. Shop for the tampons and feminine care items you need online at CVS, where you can find a large selection of menstrual care products.

How Big Are Regular Tampons?

Regular tampons fall in the mid-range of tampon absorbency sizes. They absorb more than light tampons but less than a super or super plus tampon. They are typically suitable for most days of your menstrual flow.

How Much Blood Does a Regular Tampon Hold?

Regular tampons are made to hold approximately 6 to 9 grams of menstrual fluid. As with any tampon, regular tampons should be changed between 4 to 8 hours. Never exceed 8 hours of use with the same tampon. Make sure to always use the correct tampon size depending on your level of flow.

How Long Do Regular Tampons Last?

Tampons vary when it comes to how long they can last. Every woman's flow is different, but regular-sized tampones generally last for 4 to 8 hours. The FDA recommends using the most low-absorbency tampon you can and states that a tampon is probably too absorbent if you can use it for 8 hours without needing to change it. Tampons are available in a range of absorbency levels, from light to regular and super, with some brands offering an extra level called super plus or equivalent.

How Many Regular Tampons Equal a Super?

Most tampons are around 2 inches long, though shorter sizes are available. Because they're all close to the same size, tampons vary in absorbency largely due to their internal structure. This structure determines how much fluid they can absorb before needing to be changed. Light-absorbency tampons, such as Tampax Pearl-Light, can usually handle up to 6 grams of blood, while regulars hold 6 to 9 grams. Super tampons average 9 to 12 grams, which makes them up to twice as absorbent as regulars. For the heaviest flow days, ultra-absorbency tampons, such as o.b. Ultra, can handle up to 18 grams, equal to two to three regular tampons.

How Many Regular Tampons Should I Use per Day?

It's normal to work through three to six tampons a day. If you're not using that many, you may not be changing them often enough. If you're working through more than this, you might want to try a more absorbent product that can handle a heavier flow. Regular-flow tampons vary from one manufacturer to another, and it's a good idea to experiment with different types to find the kind you like. If you're not confident with a new tampon style, you can keep some protectores or other productos de cuidado femenino handy to make sure you're protected.

What's the Difference Between Sport Tampons and Regular Tampons?

Sport tampons are designed to be more comfortable during physical activity. The material that makes up sport tampons is more flexible than a regular tampón. They also have a more contoured shape to move with your body during physical activity. This can provide extra comfort and leak protection, both of which are important when you're playing sports, running or doing yoga.

Regular tampons are a great choice for everyday wear, and sport tampons are good to use when exercising or doing any activity that involves lots of movement.
