    Just not the same...

    I'm 52 and a lifetime candy lover. Red Vines and Black Vines have always been my favorite licorice candies my go to. Especially the Jumbo Vines and Family Blend varieties (which I haven't been able to find for years now). This last year or so I've noticed significant changes, and certainly not for the better. The flavors are mostly the same. However the size and texture has completely changed. They are no longer soft, chewy, and melt in your mouth. They're much too firm now and the consistency is much different. As is evident from all of the crumbs and shards within the bags now. They've gone from chewy to rubbery and fall apart. It's almost as if they're trying to be more like Twizzlers, which I despise. Also the Original Red Vines are now about half of the diameter and thickness as they were which makes them even worse. The Jumbo vines have certainly shrunk as well. I'm sorry to say but after being a 40+ year customer I will no longer be purchasing these. How a company can change a candy after literally half a century and expect to pass it off as the same and "original" is beyond me. Truly sad.

    Disappointed

    I bought this a few weeks ago and was a bit disappointed. While it had great flavor it was a bit hard and dry.

    Long Lost Candy

    I loved this licorice when a small child and enjoyed the taste. Then they were very hard to find which made me sad. They were a huge part of my childhood that I thought was lost forever.....then I came upon your website and got very happy !! I will be ordering these red vines for the remainder of my life !! I turn 70 this December 25th !!! Thank you very much for helping me enjoy some of the candy that I truly LOVE !!

    I grew up in Portland and these were my favorite candy. 40 years later, they are the only licorice I have ever liked to eat!

    Best Red Licorice!

    This is the best red licorice - hands down! I have been eating it since I was a kid - 60 years now! Perfect texture and flavor. Not like those other plastic brands!
