It has potential but...
I've tried both the grape and strawberry. I preferred the grape (which is odd because in a real PB&J I prefer strawberry) and I think the flavors blend really nicely. The "jelly" is a sweet goop that's somewhat similar in texture to the caramel in a caramello bar. To that person who gave it one star because they expected it to be real jelly, why were you expecting Hershey's to make anything not artificial?? My main problem with this is that there should be more jelly filling. The best part of it is around the edges where it's nice and thick and you get a lot of flavor. Closer to the center the filling gets very thin and isn't near prominent enough. Maybe it's a structural issue, but Hershey's, if you're able to get more grape filling in there, please try!!Reply from REESE'S2 weeks agoWe're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the grape flavor, even though you typically prefer strawberry in a traditional PB&J. Strange taste
I work in a gas station that does not carry these. A lot of customers were asking about them. Today, I walked into my local Circle K and saw the display. They were out of the strawberry, so I can only say about the grape. Like other reviews, I was disappointed that it was a taffy-like layer, but more over that layer had a very stale after taste. I understand the need to preserve the freshness of the candy and that can lead to extra additives. But perhaps more research needs done with more taste testers. NOT good
I will not buy these again. The only redeeming quality is the peanut butter. The "jelly" is a liquid type candy that has an artificial grape flavor. Disappointed
How Dare you even say there's jelly in it? False advertising, it makes it look like there's so much in there and you could barely even see it, let alone taste it. You're going downhill fast? I also purchased the ones with Potato Chips in it. That was another disappointment. I was so looking forward to the taste of Potato Chips but couldn't even see any potato chips let alone taste any. going downhill fast. very fast. I remember the commercial when you first came out.About 2 people running into each other.One with chocolate 1 with peanut butter.You've got your peanut butter in my chocolate.No you got your chocolate in my peanut butter. And the rest was history, but such a disappointment. Undoubtedly the biggest disappointment
This had every bit of potential to be an S tier Reese's treat. Whoever came up with the idea give them a raise, but whoever decided on how the "jelly" was going to be manufactured should be fired immediately. It's like eating your Reese's cup with thick smear-able cough syrup.
