The smell is very medicinal- like Bad antiseptic. It transfers to your toothbrush and tastes horrible. Small and easy to store
It is only the brush head that needs protection. Regular toothbrush cases can get contaminated on the inside and actually grow mold. Hard to clean. This one is easy to see if anything is building up. steroid has foul odor
