A Cleanse like never before!
I have NEVER tried a skin or scalp tonic before and this one has made me want to use one every time I need a deep cleanse on my hair/scalp! It leaves an invigorating tingly cooling effect when applied and washes/rinses out super easily with no residue! It doesn't feel like it is drying out my hair or skin and smells like peppermint and tea tree but isn't overbearing. Beware though as the formula is like a very liquidy gel so it can quickly run down from your scalp and into your eye. The needle nose point applicator makes it really easy to disperse through my scalp which is perfect if you have very long hair like mine. It's a quick process and great for those who don't wash their hair often (always depends on hair type and oils in the hair). I tend to use products in my hair daily to style and hold so the build-up tends to come quicker which results in my scalp getting itchy. This is the perfect solution if you're like me. You can add this to your scalp dry (before shampooing) and rinse it out or use it in dry hair pre- or post-wash as a leave-in treatment - just massage it into the scalp. I use the Sulfate-Free Shampoo from this line afterward and my scalp and hair feel refreshed and revitalized. I used some of this on my skin after shaving and it reduced the irritation I got from the post-shave while absorbing quickly with its lightweight formula. I love tea tree oil for its antiseptic properties and although this contains menthol for that cooling effect, it doesn't smell like it at all. I was happy to have the opportunity to review a few products from TCM, including the peppermint and tea tree oil skin and scalp tonic. First, let me say, I was impressed with the packaging and design of the TCM products. The products look high end but are sleek and minimalist in their packaging. I was excited to have this product for both myself and my boyfriend as we both use a decent amount of styling product or gel; which can lead to build up on the scalp. This product actually feels quite refreshing on the scalp. Peppermint and menthol provides a stimulating and invigorating sensation. The tea tree oil is a great feature, it is anti inflammatory, anti microbial, and probably one of the best natural dandruff remedies. Tingling sensation
My boyfriend used this item to prep his skin before shampooing, which he also used in his beard as well to prep before using the beard foam wash. When using the tea tree oil, he really enjoyed how it stimulated his scalp because it left a very invigorating feeling. The nozzle made the application very easy to use, it was very travel friendly as it was taken with us while on vacation and so the design of it made it leak free. He would definitely buy it and recommend to his friends, which he feels if you're buying this oil you should definitely buy the beard wash and shampoo. I tried the TCM Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil & Scalp Tonic on my son who has very thick, curly hair. I really appreciate the formula because it is simple but effective. The smell was very soft which is nice because it didn't overpower. I also loved the nozzle on the bottle because it made application so much easier. I was able to apply it to his whole scalp in a very quick efficient manner which is important to me. I also like that it wasn't heavy, or greasy but the tea tree oil makes it really good for people who don't shampoo daily. The scalp tonic was very unique in that it fulfilled the need for men to be able to use a product to combat dry or itchy scalp while having a product specifically designed for them.
