I switched to TRESemme Ultra Hold Hair Gel from TRESemme Mega CONTROL Hair Gel when my local CVS started carrying it, and I was pleasantly surprised that I like it much better than TRESemme Mega CONTROL Hair Gel, which I had been using for a few years. I notice two main differences. First, unlike TRESemme Mega CONTROL Hair Gel, TRESemme Ultra Hold Hair Gel dries without leaving my hair stiff. And second, it doesn't smell like coconut! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the the scent of the gel it is floral without smelling too much, the texture is like a jelly, I like the that when I scrunch my hair it still feels soft and not crunchy. The bottle is a good size and gives a lot of product. Great for curly hair in humidity

Not for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have thick curly hair and I typically use a leave in conditioner and a curl cream to style my hair after washing. Lately, I have been experimenting with different curl gels that I apply after the curl cream. Some I like and others not so much. I did my typical routine and then applied this gel in wet hair. The following day I didn't have the definition I was looking for so I added a little more to dry hair and went about my day. My hair was dry, frizzy and unmanageable.
