What Is Microban Made Of?
Microban contains triclosan, an ingredient used in medical care to treat and coat surgical tools and to wash patients to help kill MRSA on the skin. This ingredient is known for its bacteria-killing properties, and it also kills yeast and fungi by attacking cell membranes. The proprietary blend of antibacterial agents in Microban helps to kill existing bacteria while preventing it from spreading for up to 24 hours after it has been applied to various surfaces throughout your home.
Does Microban Kill Viruses?
Microban is effective against Staphylococcus aureus & Enterobacter aerogenes bacteria, however, it does not provide protection against residual viruses. It will kill the bacteria that causes strep throat and tuberculosis, however, it is not effective against viruses such as the common cold or the coronavirus. Some illnesses may be caused by either bacteria or viruses, such as meningitis or diarrhea.
