Cruelty Free Lipstick

A cruelty-free label on lipstick means that the product and the ingredients in it aren't tested on animals. Cruelty-free lipsticks can be just as high quality, long-lasting and pigmented as brands that are not cruelty-free.

Cruelty-free is not the same as vegan, however. Vegan makeup contains no animal-derived ingredients. Por ejemplo, Burt's Bees - Lápiz labial brillante 100% natural isn't vegan as it contains beeswax, an animal product, but no animals are harmed or used for testing, which means it's considered a cruelty-free lipstick. Some brands are both vegan and cruelty-free.

Many color and formula choices are available when shopping for cruelty-free lipstick. You can choose from lipsticks, lip crayons, lip glosses and liquid lip colors from the palest pink to the darkest browns to express your style.

Many lipstick brands are cruelty-free. NYX provides a range of cruelty-free lipsticks, including NYX Professional Makeup Shine Loud Vegan Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick, which also contains no animal products. CoverGirl is a cruelty-free makeup brand with lipstick such as CoverGirl Exhibitionist y Continuous Color Lipstick. Other cosmetics brands that do not test on animals are Milani, Wet 'n Wild and FLOWER Beauty. 

If you're not sure whether your lipstick is cruelty-free, check the label. It will state "not tested on animals", or "cruelty-free" or could be endorsed by organizations such as PETA.

The best cruelty-free lipstick for you depends on which formula you prefer. There are traditional lipsticks that retract into a tube, such as e.l.f.
