[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was different. I wouldn't really say that it is matte, more of a satin finish which was nice. I am terrible at painting my own nails and the matte top coat erased a world mistakes (that I made) applying gel paint that I got with the matte top coat (meant to work with the top coat). I did notice that the top coat pitted if I only used one coat and that it rubbed off after a few days and needed to be re-applied.Reply from essieHace 2 añosHi there LuayChick! Gel couture matta top coat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, got this a well over 2 weeks I believe and I enjoy this gel mattte couture. So, basically you will get your reguar essie gel nail polish the color of your choosing of course. Put it on your nails like any nail polish. Let it sit for a few minutes. Because if you try putting the couture while its wet well, the result are not the best. After the your gel nail polish dries. It lools just like any gel finish so this is when you add the couture to your nails, and as your waiting for it to dry you can see as your gel nail polish because to change into this beautiful matte finish. Matte effects in 1 minute!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Essie mail products before and I love them, but I've never seen a matte top coat polish before. Matte is very trendy nowadays and it's cool that you can now turn your nails matte. At first when I applied the top coat, it went on glossy, but then as it dried, it turned matte. Matte, but only for a little while
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Essie products, but have always had trouble with matte top coats. I am very hard on my nails and usually have to reapply polish after just a few days. I found that this top coat looked wonderful for the first day but started showing glossy edges around the second day. It works, but gets very goopy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received this matte top coat, I my toes with Essie's VIPlease which is a dark fuschia color. I found the matte top coat very easy to use, though it was slightly thicker than expected. A few days later, I decided to remove the polish from all but one nail so that I could see what the matte effect looks like on other colors. After painting my toes with a few colors, I opened the matte top coat and found it to be very very thick and goopy and difficult to work with. Not sure if this is just me? Though it was very easy to use the first time, it was pretty difficult this time, I may add some acetone to try to thin it out a little. Results - the two darker colors that I used took the matte effect very well. I didn't see a noticeable difference on the "turquoise & caicos" nail. I tried a metallic gold out of curiosity of what would happen, but it seems like matte may not be made to work well with metallics.. it'sa little bit of a thick goopy mess. Overall, I'm not really sure why the texture of the matte top coat changed so much between the first and second uses, but the bottle did fall when I received it and the handle was cracked possibly letting air into the bottle, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and only removing one star since it worked so well the first time.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on essie.com - Sí, recomiendoMargiReviewed 2 years ago
Durable and cute!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically stick with gel or dip polish on my fingers because I have a hard time staying still long enough to not smudge immediately after I paint my nails. When I saw how quickly this Essie gel couture dries on my toes and how cute the matte top coat looks, I decided to give it a try on my fingernails as well. I painted them in the car on the way to a kids birthday party. This picture is two days later!! That is unheard of for me with polish especially when I jump on a water slide less than 20min after I painted them. Beautiful Soft Matte that's smooth and lasts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Essie Gel Couture Matte Top Coat works very well at mattifying any nail look. It's not chunky or gritty when applied and dries mostly transparent so the color underneath is not altered too much. It also helps to keep your nails fresh and seals the color and design in well so you aren't dealing with multiple chipped nails after a few days. It's a great formula and levels itself very well.
