Defective Filters
I used to love my "Zero Water" pitcher/ filter system. However, I've been having problems for over a year with the filter only lasting only a month! It goes from (0 to 5-6 TDS) then continues to rise. Additionally, the water will often times not drain through the filter. I've contacted the company at least 3 times before & after Zero became Culligan. I was sent new filters (at my expense) but the new ones are doing the same thing. I believe they are what is called Legacy filters with the black label on top. These filters are too expensive to replace every month.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on Culligan - raidergirlReviewed 2 months ago
Very short life
It filtered well for about one month, perhaps 20 uses. I was really disappointed. It says it's 35% longer life but longer than what? Does not seem cost effective if I need to purchase every month.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on Culligan - ChitReviewed 3 months ago

Not as expected
The new filter provides a reading of 007 instead 000 as expected. Anything above 006 ppm means time for replacement. Not what I expected0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on Culligan - KabaliReviewed 4 months ago
ZeroWater Filter – Starts Great, Ends Fishy
I've now gone through three separate ZeroWater filters, and each time, the pattern has been the same: fresh, clean-tasting water at first, followed by a noticeably fishy or metallic taste after just a couple of weeks of normal use. This isn't a subtle issue - the off-putting flavor makes the water undrinkable. I double-checked my tap water, storage conditions, and filter usage, and the result was consistent: something in the filter itself appears to degrade or leach after a short period. It's extremely disappointing for a product that advertises "purity" and positions itself as premium. This has all the markings of planned obsolescence - filters that degrade prematurely, pushing users to purchase replacements more frequently than seems reasonable. Whether intentional or due to poor quality control, the result is the same: a product that quickly becomes unusable and creates more waste. What's worse is that ZeroWater doesn't clearly warn consumers that this could happen or provide transparency about lifespan under real-world conditions. A filter that turns your drinking water fishy after 2-3 weeks? That's unacceptable - and feels like a disgusting business practice for a product that's supposed to improve health and sustainability. Verdict: Avoid unless you're prepared to replace filters constantly - or tolerate water that tastes like a fish tank.Reply from zerowater.comHace 3 mesesThank you for contacting ZeroWater. As the quality of tap water and consumption rates differ greatly for everyone, we use gallons to estimate filter life instead of weeks or months. The higher the TDS reading the shorter the filter life and vice versa. A change in the taste of the water is indicative of a filter that has been used beyond the point of exhaustion. The ions that are trapped inside the filter will start to leach out due to over saturation of the ion exchange resins, and due to the high TDS concentration, the taste of the water will change. Keep in mind that everything that the filter is filtering is still inside the filter and eventually will start leaching out when the filter goes beyond the capacity. Think about the filter as if it was a garbage container, once it is full, the garbage will start falling out if you keep putting more on top. In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water, it is important to test your filtered water regularly and to change the filter when the TDS meter reads 006 on filtered water.Saludos,ZeroWater Team0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on zerowater.com - PruittHCompra verificadaReviewed 4 months ago
Now new filters. That was and isn’t needed.
Zero has always been good to our family, creating affordable filtration that works supremely well, producing great tasting water at affordable prices. But since the Culligan takeover, they're not Zero anymore. Case in point we have the large glass countertop model that has worked perfectly for years. Now Culligan has changed the filters. Now you can still buy the old Zero filters but if you want to convert to the new filters, you have to buy an entire new container. All Culligan would have to do is sell you the filter basket, it will fit both old and new generations. So product is good but bean counters reign at Culligan.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on Culligan
