What Is Beano?

Beano is an enzyme supplement that you can take before you eat to help you digest gas-causing foods like beans, certain vegetables, and whole grains.

How Does Beano Work?

Beano helps prevent gas before it starts by using an enzyme called Alpha-galactosidase that works with your body's natural digestive functions to break down the complex carbohydrates found in many gas-causing foods before they reach your colon. This can help to prevent bloating and gas before they even start!

What Is In Beano?

Beano contains an enzyme called Alpha-galactosidase. It is derived from a natural source (Aspergillus niger). Alpha-galactosidase enzyme can help your body break down foods that are difficult to digest. This helps to prevent bloating and gas. Additional Beano ingredients are: cellulose gel, mannitol, invertase, potato starch, magnesium stearate, colloidal silica, and gelatin. Beano contains fish (cod, flounder, and redfish).

When To Take Beano?

You should take Beano right before you eat gassy food or with your first bite of gassy food.

How Often Can You Take Beano?

Beano can be used anytime you eat a meal that includes gas-causing foods.

Is Beano Safe?

Beano is generally considered safe to use. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, galactosemic, or if you have diabetes, you should talk to your doctor before taking Beano. Children under the age of 12 should not take Beano. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Beano or if you develop an allergic reaction, stop use and call your doctor right away. If the reaction is severe, call 911 or go to your local emergency clinic.
