The pumice and rasp layers snap together to create a compartment that catches skin shavings. For the best results, start by soaking your feet in sudsy water to soften the skin. The pumice stone lid of the 3-part file is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Use the pumice layer first, then snap the rasp file part onto the pumice lid to create a skin shavings catcher compartment that will contain any exfoliated dead skin. Use the rasp layer second. Just snap the file apart and dispose of the skin shavings when you're done using the rasp. Snap all three files together with the pumice on top, the rasp in the middle, and the emery on the bottom, then use the bottom emery file to give your feet a smooth finishing touch.
