Started using this sensitive soap years ago on the advice of a dermatologist. This last batch that i bought a week ago is different. It has an awful odor almost like motor oil. Smells terrible now!
Smells absolutely horrific! They did something very wrong with this current formulation. I have a pack from a couple of years ago and it smells completely different; very neutral and almost like a light version of the original. This new stuff smells awful! They need to revert to the previous formulation. Something changed! It Smells horrible!!
I've been buying Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap for years and just recently bought a new 12 pack. It used to have little to no smell, never now it smells horrible! It is impossible to use and has been making my skin dry and breakout. The whole pack of Dove also has a ring around the soap and as you use it, the ring turns brown. Dove Sensitive Bar Soap Has Changed...
I am so disappointed. I have been using dove sensitive bar soap my entire life- 27 years. It's the only thing my eczema abd sensitive skin tolerates. I use it on my entire body and face and have always loved it. I don't know what happened but on the last handful of months the sensitive skin beauty bar has changed drastically. I have noticed it is much smaller, doesn't lather near as much- making it not last near as long, and smells very strongly- almost as if it has gone bad. At first I thought I might have bought from a bad batch but after months of this happening I'm not so sure that's the case anymore. I worry what will happen if they did change the formula. My skin won't take to anything else and the smell of the soap is now very hard to handle. This soap STINKS!!!!!!
I've been buying this soap for many, many years. Because it was fragrance-free. Bought a 12 pack a couple of days ago (at the same price as a 16 pack a year ago SHRIKFLATION), and I used the first bar tonight in the shower. "WHAT is that SMELL????" The soap. Smells like mildew. It will all go back to the store. It's now in a Ziplock bag. I might even see if I can find some with a different batch number and buy some more and try again?? soap and lotion have separated
Perhaps Dove soap bars need Use By dates. The Dove I recently opened is no longer exactly a bar of soap with moisturizing lotion, but two separate elements. The moisturizing lotion is oozing out and making rather a mess. I got a larger soap dish to put it in so the lotion would not make its mess on the counter.
