Great option for thinning hair
2 stars is really not what I want to rate this product (which I love) but I wasn't sure where to put this review to make sure it would catch the attention of the powers that be. I have thinning hair and have used this root cover up [along with hair fibers (e.g. Toppix), and one or two other things like that] to help hide my balding areas, with pretty good success. Surely I can't be the only person who uses your spray root cover up on their scalp as well as their hair, playing around to help hide what needs to be hidden. Works great. My problem now is that I am thinking about letting my hair go grey. Your product has been the one I've relied on most to cover my balding spots. You, obviously, do not make your spray in a grey color. See why I am in a tither? As I mentioned, I am certain that I am not the only person that uses your spray in the manner I described. Have you heard this from anyone before? I think you would find a lot of grey-haired women would buy your spray if you made it in grey. I haven't seen grey in any other brand (which makes sense since grey seems counterintuitive and companies don't realize there is probably a market out there for that color). Anyway, just hoping to give you some food for thought.

Easy to use and effective
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product and followed the instructions as directed. The color was very easy to mix and I loved the tray that came with it for mixing. The brush provided was also great in getting color close to the scalp. I did leave the color on for the 25 minutes because there were some stubborn grays I was worried about. The color rinsed off easily and all the grays were covered. Beware as the instructions do warn you but you may want to use gloves when applying the color mask after the rinse. I thought it would be more like the creme conditioners that come with hair dyes but it was a dark brown gel that will definitely leave some stain on your skin if you're not wearing gloves. Overall, I did like the product and would use again.

It works and beautiful color
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had little trouble following and using the materials and directions. The color was a nice match and a fast way to clean up roots in between colors. Though little, it was enough to cover the growth. Should one become available, I would use again. Even for those without prior experience dying hair at home, the product is made to be user-friendly. The box included a little brush for exact application. It looks great with the color of my hair already. Being made to operate in just ten minutes, the product is an easy and quick fix for people who are busy.

My new "go to"
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am completely blown away by the results of the Clairol root touch up I received. I rarely go to the salon, aside from occasional trims. I typically always dye and and touch up my roots at home by myself or with the help of a friend, or sometimes my husband. Clairol has always been one of my top choices, in general. I am a fan, and I don't care to pay a little extra or go out of my way a bit to obtain a specific Clairol product. Honestly, they are top of the line in diy boxed hair dyes. That being said, this new root touch up by Clairol takes the whole boxed dye game to a new level. I am 43 years old, and I have greys invading nearly every inch of my dark brown hair. Especially the underside, back of my hair which is super visible when I pull my hair up. Also, it's really noticeable at the top of my head, and no matter what spot I part my hair at, it is like a glowing bundle of aging embarrassment, trying to take over my whole head. When I applied this root touch up, I was not expecting incredible results. I expected the typical "good enough" touch up that I've gotten used to with any other. I was shocked y'all! I have no grey hair visible anywhere on my head. The color match is amazing as well, there is no color difference between my roots and the rest of my hair. It's all one pretty dark brown shade, from root to tip. I even had my husband do an inspection all through my head and he was amazed at the result as well. I haven't been this free of greys since my early 30's. I'm sold, and this will now be my go to touch up. It may be the only product I ever buy for touch ups OR dye, since it has checked all my boxes visibly, plus I haven't noticed any negative effects to my hair, which usually accompanies a round of hair dye or coloring. My hair is still shiny and soft, whereas other products in the past have left my hair with obvious dryness, frizz, dullness, the typical "I dyed my hair" look to it. I obviously recommend this product to everyone.

It's fine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't really understand the purpose of this. I know it's supposed to cover roots, but it seems like an excessive amount of product for this. It feels wasteful. And for this amount I'm not sure why someone wouldn't just buy a normal box of hair dye.
