    Does not leave white residue

My doctors are recommending that I use only mineral sunscreens. I was afraid that it would leave a noticeable white residue on my skin. It does look white when applied, but the whiteness disappears when the lotion is rubbed in. It does not feel greasy. Using CVS coupons made the price very reasonable.

    This is an OK product

As a sunscreen, this works well. The downside is that this has an oily finish and is not great on the face. Also, it's very watery and the first time, I squeezed out almost a handful! I thought it would be more like a lotion but it's runny and more like heavy cream. BEWARE! I bought it based on a review, not the price, even though it was under $10.

    Coppertone: Never. Stop. Making. This.

So I specifically seek dermatologists on Youtube to find out the common thread that many of them suggest to look for in skin products because I'm more concerned about skin health and longevity over temporary solutions to cover up and look flawless all the time. I don't wear face makeup 98% of the year so I want to be able to apply my daily sunscreen liberally without a white cast, especially since I have olive skin (Mexican and Asian blend). To my delight, this sunscreen actually looks good on my face and skin. I was prepared to start committing to wearing a tinted sunscreen on top of a base layer of sunscreen to cover any white cast but honestly... I don't need to with this. I went on an obsessive sunscreen spree when I started trying out different brands and this one is by far my favorite! The percentage of zinc oxide is quite considerable and the ingredients overall compare to the same ingredients used in high-priced sunscreens on the market. As far as formulation and consistency, I quite like that it's runnier than other sunscreens because I apply it as if I'm finger painting my face. I work in increments, building up the amount of product but the general way I apply is rubbing it into the pads of my fingertips and then blotting it on like how beauty gurus do with foundation and concealer. Then I blend blend blend and spread spread spread-runnier and wetter is better for that, in my opinion. I probably use about two quarters worth of product on my face and neck in total but I build my way up to that point. As far as how the sunscreen wears, I am active and get outside every day plus I work out at least three times a week. I'm able to apply this sunscreen close to my eyes and it doesn't sting-I don't even know if it gets into my eyes because I haven't noticed a problem. Make sure, if you put sunscreen on your eyelids and underneath your eyes as I do, that you check up on the fine line creases as the sunscreen sets. I usually get into the habit of using my finger to lightly blend the top of my lid and under my eyes about 10-15 mins after first applying the sunscreen to erase that white build up. I don't have to keep doing that throughout the day, it's just one time after the first application. I am 25 so my skin has matured past the horrors of adolescent, acne flare ups. It's not perfect, and if I don't take care of my skin I will most defintely break out, but using this on top of my basic CeraVe and Differin Moisturizer in the morning (I toggle between or use both) is a game changer. I'm all about ingredients and what products ACTUALLY do for you, so every moisturizer, cleanser, or sunscreen I put on my skin has solid ingredients, is applied in the recommended order, and includes the recommended amount. I don't care for sparkly masks, fragrant lotions, or magic oils… anything that makes me wonder "Hmmm… if it's really so magical why haven't professional dermatologists been advertising it for years?" So much of skincare in marketing… I'm just here to stay PURE AND SIMPLE, hehe. Get yourself this sunscreen and Coppertone, never stop making it!

    Didn't work for me

I understand having a white cast as it comes with zinc but my skin did not like this product. I have dry skin thats well maintained but I get flaky skin all around my nose, cheeks, and forehead when I use this and I read other reviews that noted the same thing. I would not recommend for the face or at least give it a one day test where you aren't leaving the house to see how your skin reacts to it. I'm sure it does the job on the rest of the body but I would be hesitate on your face.
