I'm not sure what changed in the manufacturing of this wonderful device. We have a his and hers set of heating pads, plugged into the exact same outlet that we snuggle with on our love seat. They get used equal durations of time. The dark blue fabric heating pad - exact same model - we have had for over a year. I'm now on my 3rd or 4th exchange of the new grey ones as they only last a couple months then die! Has no auto shut off Poor quality product

Stopped Working
CVS Accu Heat heatings pads are no good, poor quality and should be avoided. I owned a different brand of heating pad and it worked perfectly for more than 10 years. Never had any problems with it. Till the cover became worn and I decided to buy a new one rather than trying to wrap a towel around the heating pad. So I ordered an Accu View from CVS. it lasted less than two years. Controller light is now started blinking. The controller will blink within 30 seconds of plugging it in and turning it on, other times after a few minutes, yesterday it ran for a while over 20 minutes without blinking. Tried to use it again today and it blinks as soon as you plug it in. The other problem is they market this as an "extra long" heating pad, described as being 24 inches wide. The fabric pad is 24 inches wide but the actual heating element, or the heated area of the pad is 33% less, measuring just 16 inches. So there is 4 inches of fabric on each side of the pad that does not have a heating element. That's a 16 inch heating pad in my mind. I would not buy this brand again and do not recommend it to anyone. It doesn’t heat up much. Have to return it
