Fastest digital thermometer I have found, and unlike others, doesn't break after a few weeks or months. Large read-out, easy to use

Followed instructions but would not turn on. Tried to open the battery compartment to see if the perhaps the battery was not making contact, but it was very difficult to get it open. Did finally get it open, but didn't seem to be any problem with the position of the battery. Instructions simply say push the button to turn it on. Box says "See insert for instructions". No instructions in box Cannot get it to work.
