Dispenser doesn't advance by twisting.
Like others, I was disappointed that you can't advance the gel pencil WITHOUT a cosmetic sharpener! The package should say MUST use a cosmetic sharpener. I haven't bought one yet ...I used to use regular pencil sharpeners on old style Maybelline eye sticks encased in wood. Still confused how a plastic stick dispenser is sharpenable!

Hi there! We appreciate you reaching out! Despite the plastic-coated appearance of the liner, it can be sharpened with any cosmetic sharpener. For best results, turn the pencil gently 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. For the most precise definition, we suggest using our Expert Tools Dual Sharpener to sharpen your liner!

Can't sharpen it, so I paid for 2 applications. W
I love the first two applications, but when I go to sharpen the gel eye liner, the outer layer cracks and crumbles. I love the look, but the eye liner loses luster and shine as the outer layer crumbles.

Hello GeeM! Thank you for contacting Maybelline. We recommend using our Expert Tools Dual Sharpener to properly sharpen the Color Tattoo 24HR All In One Eye Stix. This pencil does not swivel. You can locate the sharpener here: https://tinyurl.com/bddvdsd4. To properly use this product, turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. The pencil should be sharpened frequently so that 3 or 4 gentle turns are sufficient to achieve the desired result. The Color Tattoo® Eye Stix Up to 24HR Wear Shadow, Liner, Primer should be replaced whenever the blade has dulled and is no longer giving the expected results. Not easy to use when you cannot sharpen pencil
I see I am not the only one with sharpener issues. It's a shame there are too many with this issue of not easily being able to simply sharpen a liner, hence giving it a low rating. I wish I had saved my receipt.

Poorly designed
Even with the recommended sharpener these pencils are useless. It takes all my strength to twist the plastic-like outer part past the blade. Yet the color part crumbles to powder at the lightest touch. Since I have always been satisfied with Maybelline in the past, I bought 3 colors. They all had the same problems.
