I loved this product both times I used it. However, it is Not hypoallergenic. And I am fed up with products claiming they are, especially makeup. Within a couple hours my face got red, and swollen. My under eye, eyelids, eye brows and forehead swelled up. And it felt like I had gotten a sunburn. The first time I used it and it happened I attributed to something else. But this second time, there was nothing I ate nor changed in my environment and the same thing happened. My histamine level is thru the roof and I feel slightly anaphylactic. This happens with almost all brands of makeup, on me. But I have used Almay for years, hoping to get a good experience. Nope. Don't believe any negative reviews. I'm a big fan and loyal customer. I've been blessed sensitive skin and a skin tone that is not easy to match. I've tried many different brands - everything from high-end to drugstore to dollar store. Smart Shade, Light Medium Mine is my go-to everyday foundation because it provides just enough coverage to improve the look of my skin and it adjusts to match perfectly. I have very dark under eye circles. The light/medium coverage is buildable so I dot on a second pass as a prep for under eye concealer. There's no creasing, cracking and it wears well all day. I've recommended Smart Shade to several friends who have complimented my skin and are as picky about foundations as I am. I purchased this product hoping that it would be exactly what I wanted. I was so very wrong! This product turned orange reminiscent of the foundations in the 80's. It was awful. Amazing
This product truly melts into your skin and the color match is perfect. It provides a poreless finish and has a great all day stay. I hope they never stop offering this foundation because it honestly out performs more expensive brands. this product has great coverage and it is good at blending out. Love every aspect of this makeup
At first use the contents are white; however, upon applying to skin, color adapts to skin tone and perfectly creates the color appropriate for given individual. AMAZING - does exactly what it says it will!
I wasn't sure if this product would work. I have very sensitive skin and usually am only able to use mineral powder foundation. But as I get older, these are too drying and emphasize my larger pores. I read the reviews and decided to give this product a try. To be honest, I really had my doubts as to whether this could match MY skin color accurately…As stated, it starts out white, but after I applied it, it immediately turned into the very best color match of any makeup I've ever used in my entire life! And I have been a makeup snob, trying every expensive brand out there in a quest for what this incredible product offers! It wears well, does not get too greasy, does not drag over dryer areas and leaves a lovely finish that's neither to iridescent, nor too matte! Highly, highly recommended! Almay, please do not change or discontinue this amazing product. I will be a customer for life! Note that I am 57 years old, have a few acne scars and haven't used sunscreen because my skin is too sensitive for it.
