Mini Pads for Light Flow Days
Handle light menstrual flow with mini pads. Several brands offer menstrual pads in mini sizes.
What Are Mini Pads?
This type of pad is thin and lightweight, so you almost feel like you're not wearing a pad at all. Like regular maxi pads, mini pads have an adhesive backing that sticks to your underwear to hold the pad in place.
Also known as panty liners, these pads are often individually wrapped. That way, you can leave some in the bathroom and tuck a few into your handbag, so you're always prepared. There are also zippered cases you can use to carry panty liners, a pack of feminine cleansing wipes and any other must-haves for the day.
What Kinds of Mini Panty Liners Are There?
Light-flow pads come in unscented and scented varieties. You may find organic cotton pads available, and there are even chlorine-free mini and maxi pads. Regular-sized pads and long pads provide extra coverage.
Pads with wings wrap around your underwear to hold the pad in place, so they're an option to consider for active days and overnight wear. You can, of course, wear panty liners or light-absorbency pads with wings throughout your entire period, if you're most comfortable that way.
What Are Some Mini Pad Alternatives?
You can find multiple alternatives to mini pads. On heavier flow days, look for a medium or super maxi pad. If you want the feel of a panty liner with the absorbency of a maxi, choose an ultra-thin maxi pad. Menstrual cups are another way to handle your flow, and tampones come in different absorbencies, ranging from light to super plus or ultra.
