No way to fill all those circles
I see I'm not the only one who destroyed all their finger tips. Barely got two circles filled and the third started to dry before i could finish. Had to use an old lancet kit i had. Waste of money3 users found this review helpful. - Reviewed 1 year agoSí, recomiendoValor De 5Cumple mis expectativasDe 5Calidad De 5
Waste of 40 dollars
I didn't know what to expect when purchasing this but was eager to find out if I was vitamin D deficient. There is a card that you have to fill five circles with blood from your fingers and they give you 3 finger devices for pricking. I was barely able to get two filled and had to grab my blood sugar kit to try to continue. My fingers were mangled by the end of it and I barely had 3 circles. A waste of 40 dollars and I had sore fingers for 2 days for no reason.Reply from CVS Customer Relations Team1 year agoHi, we are sorry to hear about your experience with the CVS Health Vitamin D Test. Inaccurate Vit D Test
I really wanted this to work. I saw a cheap test for Vitamin D. ($24 (after discount) per go is great, because QD/LC are more like $50 each). I was skeptical, however. I saw plenty of reviews of people complaining about "putting blood on a card is difficult". But I did not see any positive or negative reviews about the ACCURACY. (Very important!) I took a QD Vitamin D blood test, and an hour later once home, I took this CVS Vitamin D blood test. QD: 36 ng/mL. CVS: 57.8ng/mL (ref for both: 30-100ng/mL) So... the CVS test showed I had TWICE the amount of Vitamin D in my blood as the QD one! One star. I want my money back. Your test must be flawed or something? Hah. CLIA-certified. Right..... (Either that or 5-spot blood cards are VERY inaccurate? How can it be almost TWICE?)24 users found this review helpful. - Reseña recopilada como parte de una promociónSí, recomiendoGrammalaurReviewed 2 years agoCalidadDe 5ValorDe 5
I love the idea!
I am very low in vitamin D, and I can't always get tested at the Drs. I love the idea of being able to buy a test I can do at home, get results, and get the Dr to see the results. The CVS vitamin D Health is easy to use. I'm still waiting for the results. Think they might of lost it. I'll be looking for other tests, that will be a great help.2 users found this review helpful. - Sí, recomiendoHappy daysReviewed 2 years ago
Really hard to use this right.
I need to test Vitamin D monthly and was hoping this would be an easier and cheaper option than going to LabCorp. It's not. I bought two tests - first one was deemed invalid without explanation, and couldn't even meet the requirements on the 2nd test. Process: You have to fill 5 circles with blood, but you're not allowed to go outside the lines or layer the blood (meaning if your finger doesn't keep giving enough drops of blood at the same time, your test will be invalidated). It's hard to stay within the lines because the circles are super-close, and my finger stopped bleeding mid-test, so I was going to have to layer the blood. I also missed a circle completely, because I moved to try to get the blood drop to fall. You only get one card - so no second tries if something goes wrong. Really wanted this to be a great solution for me, but total failure. I spent an hour on the phone with CVS trying to replace the kit, and got passed from one operator to another, and never got it sorted out. At this point, I'm cutting my losses, but what a giant waste of money and time.12 users found this review helpful.
