My doctor recommends Zinc ointment for certain sores that I get. The CVS brand works great. This healed my abrasion
2 1/2 weeks ago, I slipped in the rain in the parking lot of a grocery store, with my right leg falling behind me and backward, I was wearing open shoes, so I scraped and abraded the top of my foot and slid on my right knee and abraded two areas, there. Within a week and a half, the two knee abrasions were healed, but not the foot abrasion. I was keeping it very clean. I was using topical antibiotics, vaseline, everything that worked on my knee wasn't working on my foot It was slow to heal. I researched and found zinc oxide is highly recommended at approximately the 20 to 25% concentration. There are way too many ingredients in zinc oxide sunblocks; but this specific formula has just the basics that are always recommended to put on skin for healing plus it costs a fraction of sunblock.. I saw a very quick advancement in my healing. I used it for two days and now the abrasion is practically 100% - there's just a little rough skin. but I no longer have an open, painful, center which I still had two days ago, 2 1/2 weeks following my fall. Follow directions online that you read about cleaning completely, drying, and applying zinc oxide. It's amazing.. I am so grateful for this product..3 users found this review helpful.
