Weightless curls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really great mousse! It helps create curls and feels weightless on the hair. The hair feels soft and there’s no crunchy texture on it at all. The mousse also makes the hair shinier and it smells amazing! My curls haven’t been as bouncy and fresh for a long time like that before!0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on influenster.com - ElyanCReviewed 1 week ago
Great Addition to my Curly Hair Routine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lately, I've been wanting to expand my curly hair routine, and when Influenster offered me the Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Creation Mousse for free in exchange for my honest review---it was the perfect opportunity! I had tried a curl mousse before, and I did not enjoy the experience. My hair was crunchy and sticky. As someone with sensory sensitivities, needless to say, I was hesitant to try a product in the same category in fear of the same result. However, this product really surprised me. I prefer products that are cruelty free, safe for sensitive skin, and relatively clean. On Garnier's website it's stated that all their products are leaping bunny certified, even though it does not state that on the packaging. Which is already a positive for me. I'm no chemist, so I can't tell you whether or not the ingredients are clean or safe for sensitive skin, but I can say that I like the addition of coconut water and shea butter. Sometimes when products say they contain something beneficial, it may be found as a small addition at the end of the ingredient list, but I was pleased to see that, though not at the beginning, the coconut water was at the middle of the list (I've highlighted it in the photo). Following the instructions, I shook well and dispensed the product into my hand. I was surprised to see how much I was able to get with a small push. What felt like a little bit of product in the palm of my hand foamed up into a huge cloud that covered the entirety of my palm and fingers. The scent of the mousse was immediately present, and it was actually a very nice smell. It was kind of tropical and fruity, reminiscent of a kids' detangling spray. There were four questions I was looking to answer with this product upon application: - How easy is it to apply? - How does it feel? - How does it dry? - How long does it last? First things first, it was quite easy to apply. With the nature of it being foamy and airy, it easily melted onto the hair and I was able to apply it thoroughly, scrunching up the ends and massaging the roots. I could immediately feel that there was something holding my hair, sort of akin to a thin layer of hairspray--a tiny bit of tackiness and resistance. It was not something I was used to, as I usually take the approach of leaving my hair to do whatever it wants, instead of trying to keep its shape. Next I decided to use my dyson dryer with the diffuser attachment to get the best display of curls possible (results in pictures). Later I will try other methods of drying to see how they compare (not pictured). For reference, along with this product, I used Eva Nyc Curl Cream, and Eva Nyc 10-in-1 Primer Spray. By itself, these products don't do much at all to my hair, they really just keep it protected from heat and moisturized, there is really not much frizz reduction or curl retention either. Now, with the mousse, I saw significant frizz reduction and curl retention. After drying my hair, I noticed that my curls were more defined than I had ever seen, and they still felt quite soft to the touch. The fragrance of the product was still present, which is something I didn't mind, and I could still sense that light "hairspray" feeling. It was expected that there would be some type of feeling as the hold is described as "extra strong," and I didn't notice any sort of weigh down either. All in all, it dried nicely, and I really enjoyed the result and process of application. What would truly be demonstrative of the efficacy of this product within my routine would be how long it lasts. So the night I used the mousse I slept in my curls, straight on the pillow. The next morning, the form of my hair was misshapen, but low and behold, the curls were still beautiful. All it took was a bit of readjustment, and to me, it looked even better than before. The same occurred day after day for almost the entire week, until my scalp got a bit sensitive from the hold and I felt the need to wash. My curls several days after applying the product and sleeping in them are also pictured (the photos of my curls after drying are indicated by a gray shirt, and the photo of my curls days after is indicated by a red shirt). I did also try air drying my hair and using a bonnet dryer attachment while using the product, and while they are not pictured, they worked quite well. For both methods, I applied the product the same way. For the air dry, my hair needed a bit extra scrunching and curl forming, and after a few hours my hair dried beautifully; flatter in the roots than with the diffuser, but the curls with just as defined, and held for several days. With the bonnet dryer, the roots were also a bit flatter, but the curls were still defined and held just as well. Overall, I enjoyed this product, and I found it to be a great addition to my curly hair routine. My rating is 4/5 stars as it functioned as well as advertised, but I noticed sensitivity in my scalp and I'm not quite sure where it came from. I guessed that it might've been the strength of the hold, which is why I would probably recommend using it less time to avoid that sensitivity. That is likely what I'll be doing in the future, but I deducted a star to keep a cautious awareness for those with sensitive skin like me. Thank you to Garnier and Influenster for the opportunity to try to this product, and I hope you found my review helpful and informative!Reply from Garnier1 week agoHi there ElyanC, wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share such an incredibly thorough, thoughtful, and beautiful review! Trusty product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Garnier is already a trusted brand in my household, so this was no surprise. Foam puffs up pretty light and airy, wasnt heavy but I do feel just a slight stickiness. Easy to use, sturdy package. Holds my curls well to tame my natural frizz. Overall good product.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on influenster.com - SamarahCReviewed 1 week ago
soft define curls with lightweight hold, and less frizz
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have naturally curly hair, so I’m always looking for products that help define my curls without making them feel crunchy or heavy. this moose gave my curls a soft hold while helping reduce frizz and add shine. I also like that it didn’t leave my hair, sticky or weighed down throughout the day. The scent is fresh, but not overpowering and a little product goes a long way. I used it on damp hair before diffusing and my curls look more fine and bouncy afterward. overall, it’s a great affordable option for everyday curl styling.0 users found this review helpful.Originally posted on influenster.com - SherlynRReviewed 1 week ago
