All of our blades, Fusion Proglide included, have a coating which makes them extremely resistant to rust. Keep in mind, like any steel, the blades can rust if they're stored in hot, moist conditions during shipment or handling. Alternatively, rust may also happen if blades are kept in these same conditions between uses. For the best from your blades, consider storing them in a cool dry area away from cleaners and moisture when not in use. This practice will help prevent rust from occurring in the future and set you up for many great shaves to come. When we upgraded the Proglide we changed the last 3 blades in the cartridge to upgraded Low Contact Force blade. When we did this we introduced the Gillette with the 5 traditional blades you prefer. We always want you to receive the best shaves and work hard to ensure our products provide smooth, comfortable shaves. There are a few factors that can impact the blade's longevity including how tough and thick your hair is, how often you shave, and how the blades are rinsed. Shave prep, such as shaving gel or foam, and shaving right after a shower can soften your hair and help your blades last longer. At the end of every shave, rinse the blade thoroughly and shake off excess water before storing. Do not wipe the blade and do not tap your razor against a hard surface.
