    AWFUL!!!!

    after having to replace our alarms once our old ones expired, the kiddie models false alarm sometimes multiple times a day. hard wired so the entire house can hear it at 4am. do not buy these. i cant sleep or focus or relax because i am constantly paranoid about this alarm going off again because it happens so often. terrible terrible product.

    Hi, thanks for reaching out. Nuisance alarms can occur for different reasons which include common things like —cooking, aerosols, steam, or dust entering the sensor. Here are some tips to help solve this… you can use the Hush feature if safe to do so (i.e., confirming there is no actual fire), clean the alarm thoroughly with compressed air into sensor openings, and ensure it’s placed away from kitchens and bathrooms, as well as HVAC vents and fans. If the behavior continues after cleaning and relocating, please contact 1-800-880-6788 for additional support or replacement options.

    Wow, only last one year and three months

    I purchased a condo with this smoke alarm already installed. No beeps or chirps to tell me that there is an issue. bi monthly checks were just fine, as far as I could tell. This evening, it starts going off like a full blown fire. I brought it down from the ceiling and had to disable it becase it would not stop beeping. With such a low quality product, I'm not surprised that the terms and conditions set it out that nothing is there fault. Upon reading other reviews, the five star reviews are from "incentivized" customers...

    I have only had my alarm 3 years & it needs replacement already.

    Falls short of 10 years.

    I purchased 5 of the sealed "10 year" battery powered detectors for every bedroom in our home. Unfortunately, 3 out of 5 did not last the full stated "10 year" life. The ones that failed still had at least a year left in time that they are claimed to last.

    Terrible

    Yup crap. Been replaced twice. All of them in the house. Chirping and going off again after only having them for a few months.

    Thanks for your message and for reaching out to Kidde. A chirp every 60 seconds is the alarm’s low-battery alert. Please install fresh, approved batteries and press and hold the Test/Hush button until the alarm sounds (i.e., reset alarm) to confirm operation. If the chirp continues after replacing the batteries and resetting the alarm, please contact Kidde Customer Support at 1-800-880-6788 so we can assist further.

You can try using the Hush feature if you’ve confirmed there’s no actual fire, cleaning the unit with compressed air, and checking that the alarm isn’t placed too close to kitchens, bathrooms, or HVAC vents.     DO NOT BUY

    Every single Kidde alarm has failed. Most failed within few months and last one within 1 year. The worst smoke alarms in the market. 9 units.
