[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So- I've always been one to be picky about the products going directly onto my face (excluding eyes and lips). Maybelline has always been a solid choice for something I may like. I received the opportunity to try their new matte primer with SPF 20. So a few things here: 1. I really do love this product- is if FULLY matte without making those potential spots that are more prone to dry/flakey areas stand out. I wore this in Charleston for a friend's bachelorette, and I can say with full confidence this is exactly what you want on your face with that heat and humidity. Literally every other girl in the group was sweating their whole face off, and this primer I feel had a BIG part in why my face stayed so well. 2. It has SPF in it!! Yes only 20, so as any dermatologist would say- you want 30 or higher. This is still a pretty good option because if you're like me, you really don't like putting on an additional layer. No matter what people say, adding another layer to your routine is not easy. So anything that allows me to cluster as much as I can when it comes down to facial application layers, I'm definitely taking it. SPF 20 is better than NO SPF. If they get it to 30 and keep everything else the same, I'll fall in love head over heels. 3. Application- there is an odd application feel, and I'm not sure how to really describe it. It has almost a sticky initial feel as it is drying. My best advice is to apply it in sections so that you get each section to lay nicely and evenly and then just leave it as it is drying. I think if you try to apply the whole face at once it may be hard to feel like it is getting evenly distributed and then could lead to over rubbing which can mess up the whole application. I will say this primer is meant to make whatever you put on stay. This isn't necessarily the feels invisible feeling, but I do think it goes away by the time you finish your makeup. This product really does create a nice canvas for the rest of your makeup to sit on and blend nicely. It so far hasn't shown to crease or look cakey. So it's really a win overall. Another amazing primer to consider
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried different primers in the past, one of my favorites being e.l.f poreless putty primer. Fit me matte + poreless is a great alternative for anyone looking for smooth, easy application that isn't too messy. I found it to apply very well on my skin, didn't require too much of the product to do its job, had no allergic reactions or problems with it. Didn't feel drying despite having clay and wasn't clumpy either. It wasn't hard to remove or clean with my makeup remover either. My skin is very sensitive, have rosacea and I definitely get reactions to products very easily. I'm happy this is another product I can use without issues. I highly recommend it!
