I have a combo of 2A/2B wavy hair. When I use this curl cream after using my leave-in spray conditioner and hair oil on my ends, and my hair is still more wet than dry, it will actually straighten my hair. But if I do all the same steps, but wait until my hair is almost dry to apply the curl cream, my hair is wavy the next morning. FYI, this is without blow drying my hair and waiting to wash my hair until bedtime. I get better beachy looking waves if I skip scrunching and blowing drying my hair at the same time, and just go to bed with almost dry hair. I love the soft fragrance of his curl cream and after using my hair doesn't feel like it has any product in it. FYI, my hair is chemically highlighted and low lighted, my light is just below my shoulders, and it's medium in texture and I have a lot of it. I do, occasionally, use a beach wave spray, but those leave a texture to my hair and can dry it out. New formula is awful, beware
This used to be my absolute holy grail of all hair products but for some reason they decided to reformulate it and now it's absolute garbage. It's super drying and leaves me with nothing but frizz. Disappointed
I tried this product with high hope because of all the reconditions of it. I have wavy hair, and I wanted to use this to enhance the waves and curls in my hair. Works, but next day scalp itches!
I wanted to stick this product out and give the full bottle a try to have a genuine perspective, but I've decided to just use the leave-in conditioner. This product works great when you're in a jam and don't have enough time to fully wet your hair for restyling. As the directions state "On damp hair, apply a small amount evenly from roots to ends, adding more as needed." My hair looks great the first day I need to do this, but by the 2nd day, the amount of itch I get on my scalp is unbelievable. The longer I wait to wash this product out, e.g. 1 day after application, the more intense the scalp itch became. Mind you, I thoroughly washed my hair prior to needing the use of the cream (i.e. a day after washing). Last night, I decided I will no longer be using this product as I had to use a scalp massager for relief (gross...); I'm not going to sleep with wet hair. When I took a closer look in the mirror, I had tiny flakes speckled throughout my hair-fearing any movement. Thank goodness it was not lice, but I concluded the flakes developed from Curl Talk Cream. I've gone days without washing my hair in the past and using anything but water and oils, and this has never happened to me. Unbeknownst to me, a family member had also been secretly using my Curl Talk Cream (she also has curly hair; less volume than mine). When I mentioned how bad my scalp itched, she realize that the same was happening to her; he cream was doing the same thing. I love the leave-in conditioner and will stick with that. There was never an issue my flakes or an itchy scalp, even using it after 3 days of a full hair wash.
