We are sorry to hear that you have had such trouble with one of our liners or pencils and we want to be able to help. Please know this new generation of gel liners provides great color payoff but needs a gentle touch to sharpen successfully. For best results, insert the pencil into the sharpener no more than 1/4 of an inch. If you push the pencil too far into the sharpener, the blade will grab too much and become difficult to sharpen. The goal is to shave off the resin in a thin curl to reveal more liner. The pencil should be sharpened frequently so that 3 or 4 gentle turns are sufficient to achieve the desired result. Replace sharpener when the blade has dulled and no longer sharpens smoothly.Sharpening this way will assure a perfectly tapered tip without any waste or loss of liner. If the end of the pencil turns, the color chip on the end of your pencil is loose. We fill the pencils from the bottom end and then cap them with a color coded cap. While your end cap may turn, it does not dispense the liner.We hope that this information helps to allow you to sharpen the product successfully!
