We tried this as it was on sale and it was terrible. It didn't taste the same as the small version. There were two of us who tried it and we both agreed that it didn't taste right. I followed directions exactly. Had to throw it out. Please be aware that I buy the smaller box all the time. The taste has changed
A few years ago Stouffers Mac and Cheese was a standout. Nice sharp cheddar flavor. Now the flavor is meh. Consistency is good, but the cheese tastes more akin to cafeteria Mac and cheese. Treasured Family Memory -- Thank You
When I was young and my parents would go out, they would drop me off at my grandparent's house. I always knew of the goodness that awaited me here. My bedroom was filled to the brim with toys and the biggest bed imaginable for a 4-year-old. But what always mattered to me the most was the mac and cheese in the black container. Stouffers mac and cheese has always been a tradition for my grandparents and I, even as I grew older, now at the age of 20. Since I loved the mac and cheese after the first time I had it, it has always appeared right in front of me when I would go to my grandparents. The first time I had this dish, they had not much else to pair it with, besides a peeled cucumber and chocolate milk. And watching the CareBears while eating said meal. That was the iconic dish that they served to me for the next two decades. The cheese is warm and velvety. The noodles are soft. And the cheese bubbles around the edges just right. They had even perfected the cooking method, ensuring a perfect crispy cheese around the edges of the dish. As I grew older, I always had Stouffers mac and cheese as a comfort meal. With seeing my grandparents less and going out into the world more, this mac and cheese was what brought me back down to earth -- providing me the comfort and love that my grandparents did. I've eaten it when I was homesick as a college kid, or just to feel a bit more warmth on a gloomy day. Unfortunately, my grandparents have both passed away. But, it is Stouffers' mac and cheese that always makes me feel a bit more connected to them since their passing. I eat the mac in cheese in memoriam of them, and all of the great times we shared.
