Using the right absorbency for your flow should provide 4 to 8 hours of protection. We're sorry to hear that was not the case and you experienced leakage. Leaking may also occur if you're using a higher absorbency than your flow requires. If there isn't enough flow to expand the tampon so it can absorb the fluid, it may leak down the sides of the tampon. Safety is our top priority, and all our products are thoroughly evaluated to ensure they are safe when used as directed. Since you mentioned the applicator was sharp and pinched during insertion, we recommend discontinuing the use of the Tampax Pearl Ultra Tampons.
