Litter review

Not as good as before
I am very disappointed in Tidy Cats clumping litter. Did Tidy Cats change the formula recently? I have used it for at least 12 years and it used to clump great! The last 3 months or so the product clumps fall apart and make it difficult to scoop up the wet litter resulting in a litter box that needs washing, scrubbing, and refilling more frequently. I have been using the 40 lb boxes as I have 4 cats. I have 4 litter boxes and scoop them daily. Not great for visually impaired cats
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat is visually impaired and relies largely on her sense of smell to navigate around the house. I tried Purina Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance clumping litter in one of her two litter boxes and she had a difficult time finding the box until I guided her to it, because it smelled different from what she was accustomed to. She used it a few times over the ensuing week, but eventually stopped using that litter box altogether. I poured out the Tidy Cats litter and replaced it with her usual brand, but she refuses to use that particular box at all, even after putting her directly in the box. Personally, I found the deodorizing system/clean linen scent of the litter to be repulsive, to the point that cleaning the box felt like a dreaded chore. In fact, the scent is so overpowering that the inside of the small, lidded waste basket that holds the bag of used litter reeks of clean linen even 2 weeks after the bag was removed. Plus, the odor-fighting ability wears off after a while, so the waste basket now has a funky, sweet ammonia smell. Best brand out there!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purina Tidy Cats Multi-Cat Clumping Litter really impressed me. It helps tremendously with odor control. It truely does clump up as stated which makes cleaning my cats litter box so easy and effortless. I love that it is low dust and easily pours out of the container. You simply pour in 3 to 4 inches of litter and remove the cats waste daily. Then add more litter to keep it at the required depth. It has a lot of absorption power. The waste is easy to toss and contains any odor.
