Like other people on the website, I am a long time loyal customer of Burt's Bees with the original Beeswax Lip Balm. Unfortunately the store I was at was out of the original so I picked up the Pomegranate Lip Balm which turned out to be quite unpleasant. Had a funky smell and thought maybe the flavour would be there but no Pomegranate scent to it. Also one note is it provides red 'marks' which I didn't know about. Didn't realize until checking the website that the formula had changed and apparently I wasn't the only one customer who went through it all...Reply from Jill4 weeks agoThanks for sharing your experience, Katamari. Soothing for your lips
Try this product! Lots of different flavors. Very soothing for dry chapped lips specially when weather changes has us drying out. Easy application and stays on quite long. Surprise Tint :(
Like many many of the people here, I am a long time loyal customer of Burt's Bees. I usually stick to the original, beeswax unflavored version--but have also noticed a formula change I have found quite unpleasant. I worry that as the years have gone on--the brand has become less reliable, and has pushed products of a lower quality. That being said--I recently started trying the flavors, and have been fairly happy with the other ones I've tried, but I picked up a pomegranite one today and was surprised to open the package and find that it was a tinted lip balm. I wouldn't have purchased it if I had known. I'm quite pale, and when I applied the balm, the tint made me look like I just ate a bowl of spaghetti with red sauce, it is very unflattering. I don't have an issue with the scent/flavor thats making the other low reviewers unhappy--but I'm very disappointed that the product was not labeled truthfully. I also think its telling that diehard fans of the other flavors are upset about the very noticeable formula changes that Burt's Bees has put forward over the last few years. Like many have said, the formula is not the same…
As many have stated in previous reviews, the trusted, loved, fan favorite pomegranate chapstick formula has changed for the worst. Like some diehard pom chapstick lovers for years, the new formula was very easily noticed. The scent is a mix between a faint oils gone bad to cheap perfume like scent, challenging for me to describe but more floral than fruit. The classic juicy pomegranate scent that was loved by many is gone. The texture is greasy & needs to be reapplied often. My lips are left needing more moisture angain after about 15 minutes, not truly nourishing and hydrating my lips which the old formula did. The residue left is a mix between chapped & cakey on my lips personally. I am a wildland firefighter & this chapstick was ALWAYS in my pockets while on the line. It was a trusted lip AND nose product I used when my lips & nose were dry or chapped. I absolutely loved the old formula & product. I had waaayyy too many tubes and gifted them to others often. All and all, I am actually heartbroken my trusted chapstick is gone. I will be seeking a replacement but it will honestly be hard, nothing compared to that pomegranate chapstick. This is dramatic I know, but the OG girlies will get it…. Absolutely awful
I received this today. Absolutely awful. It smells and tastes like menthol-flavoured dirt. I will never buy this product again. Looking at other reviews, it seems to be a common opinion. This was my first time trying it, but it sounds like it was better a year or so ago.
